Genealogy Events in Nebraska - Family History classes and Civil War conference

There are now nearly 70 genealogy or history related events in Nebraska that have been added to the ever-growing list being maintained by LongLostRelatives.net. You can view or download the list here (Adobe pdf file).

I just learned from Howard Camp that The Family History Center in Lincoln, Nebraska is preparing a series of FREE classes beginning next month. All classes are from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the LDS Family History Center, 3000 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln.

Remembering The Civil War. . .150 Years Later
July 8-9, 2011
Two day conference to celebrate the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War. There will be two days of classes, lectures and programs. Twenty four learning events will take place with professional genealogy and history speakers. This will be a great opportunity for family genealogists with Civil War ancestors as well as for those interested in the history of the Civil War.

Early registration cost for the two days will be $45/both days. This will include lunch on both days to be served on site at the museum. There will also be two free Humanities programs, one offered at the end of each day.
